Physiotherapist specialised in hand and upper limb rehabilitation

The science of movement meets the art of rehabilitation, in the physiotherapist's hands.

Training

I graduated in Physiotherapy in Bologna in 2015, the year I began working as a physiotherapist. I continued my training in Antwerp, Belgium, to deepen clinical and diagnostic reasoning in physiotherapy. In 2016, in Genoa, I earned an Italian-Belgian Master’s in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders in the orthopaedic-sports field.

In 2022 I earned a second Master’s in Specialist Hand Rehabilitation at the University of Milan.

I have attended many refresher courses and conferences in upper-limb rehabilitation, and I keep training constantly to stay aligned with the most current scientific evidence, with a focus on shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.

Why I chose physiotherapy

I fell in love with physiotherapy for its pragmatic, concrete approach: the chance to help people regain mobility, reduce pain and return to everyday life, sport and hobbies fascinates me deeply.

The scientific rigour behind my work is another source of inspiration. I use scientific knowledge to rebuild the functional gesture, allowing people to resume the simplest activities of daily life safely and effectively.

Another aspect that fascinates me is the “mystery” of pathology: you never stop studying it, exploring its nuances and being captivated by the fact that every trauma, accident or injury confronts us with a limit. Science and study push us to keep improving, to solve the problem and overcome what the injury has caused.

Yet there is also a moment when, after doing everything possible through study, goodwill and collaboration with the patient, physiotherapist and patient must come to terms with the limit imposed by the condition, the trauma, the injury or the accident. This meeting of science, commitment and human limits is, for me, one of the most fascinating aspects of physiotherapy.

Private practice

Since 2015 I have worked as a self-employed physiotherapist in Rimini and Pesaro and, since 2022, I have devoted myself to research and teaching at La Sapienza University in Rome, where I review the most recent scientific evidence and study new approaches to improve physiotherapy, including the conservative management of painful conditions.

I am a member of AIRM, the Italian Association for Hand Rehabilitation, which brings together professionals experienced in hand and upper-limb rehabilitation and promotes continuous training, research and dialogue with hand surgeons. I am also part of the Manual Therapy Group (GTM), which promotes advanced research on rehabilitation, clinical reasoning, manual therapy and the scientific basis of therapeutic exercise.

I also teach in ECM continuing-education courses for physiotherapists, with the aim of passing on specialist, evidence-based skills.

In my free time I enjoy scuba diving, Pilates, functional training, cycling and sea sports such as kitesurfing. With method and passion, these activities help me keep an active lifestyle, know myself better, reconnect with nature and value teamwork: they instil discipline, resilience and awareness — qualities I also bring to my work as a physiotherapist.
